CALL NOW TO SHIP YOUR PET: 1.888.472.8888

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

We have developed the following comprehensive policies and procedures for the transportation of your precious cargo. As the shipper you can assist with the safe, humane and efficient movement of your pet by reviewing and abiding by these shipping regulations:

·  Transportation charges are based upon the type and size of shipping kennel to be used. Kennel rates are for the shipping of domestic dogs and cats only. Rates and requirements for the shipping of all other animal species are available upon request.

· Bookings can only be confirmed when payment has been received either by Visa or Master Card.

· Kennels must be made of fiberglass, metal or rigid plastic only and we cannot accept kennels made of wire mesh. Collapsible kennels are NOT permitted under any circumstances.

·  Only kennel doors constructed of welded or case metal will be accepted. Doors constructed of plastic material will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.

·  Please ensure that the kennel door is fully functional and that all hardware (screws) etc., are in place and secure.

·  Your pet carrier/container must allow the animal(s) to stand up, turn around and lie in natural position. It is recommended that you measure the height of your pet to determine the kennel size that you will require. This measurement is taken with the animal standing erect and measuring from the floor to the top of the head.

·  Standard Kennel Sizes (Inches). Our acceptance staff will advise you as to whether or not your pet is in an acceptable container.

·  Puppies or Kittens younger than 8 weeks old CANNOT be shipped due to the possible dehydration effects of air transportation. For kittens and puppies under 12 weeks old, a letter (this is NOT a health certificate) from your veterinarian certifying that the animal(s) is/are fit to be transported by air must be provided at time of tender.

·  For safety purposes, we limit the number of pets that we carry per flight sector through our cargo department. Since space is limited it is recommended that all pets traveling as air cargo are booked in advance. In order to secure your reservation, we require that the charges be prepaid at time of booking.

·  Tranquilization of dogs and cats is not recommended, however if you choose to sedate your animal, a letter (NOT a health certificate) from your veterinarian certifying that the animal is in good health and fit to travel by air must be provided at time of tender.

·   At time of tender you will be required to sign a waiver of liability stating that your pet is in good health.

·  You will also be required to provide Government issued photo identification and sign a Cargo Security Screening Certificate.

·  You can ship additional pet items. These items will be charged based at regular shipping rates plus applicable surcharges. The regular shipping rate minimum does not apply. It is important to note that all items shipped are subject to physical security inspection at the time of tender.

·   We will require full shipper/consignee information, including a 24-hour telephone number in the case of an emergency.

·  Live animals must be tendered to our cargo location no later than 2 hours prior to departure. Please consult our website @ www.elsmarketing.com and click on cargo locations and hours of operation for the address and driving directions.

·   Due to the fact that live animals hold a secure reservation on the selected flight, this space is held and made unavailable for any other bookings. It is for this reason that we have a Live Animal cancellation policy applicable. As per this policy, if a cancellation occurs 72hrs or more prior to flight departure, there will be a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 72hrs of intended flight departure, there will be NO REFUND of the transportation charges. A one time booking change is permitted without penalty up to 2hrs prior to flight departure of the original booking.

·  Flight schedules, times and hours of operation vary by location. Subsequently, when a location is not scheduled to be open for the departure or arrival of a flight, an “AFTER HOURS” fee will be applicable. You will be advised of any additional charges at the time of your reservation.

·  ELS Marketing LP agents and employees reserve the right to refuse the acceptance of any animal exhibiting aggressive or unusual behaviour.

·  At the time of tender you may be requested to remove your pet from its kennel in order to allow for a security inspection as mandated by Transport Canada.

·  Animals do not normally require additional food or water if the total journey time does not exceed 12 hours. Do not leave food or water (or ice) in a dish inside the kennel as it will only spill and make travel unpleasant for your animal. Water can also damage other cargo including baggage and may get into the aircraft’s electrical system. A full stomach and/or bladder are not good for a traveling pet! Should you feel it necessary to provide your pet with water, it will be accepted; however, it must be in a spill proof container.

·  Pregnant pets must not be tendered for transportation unless a letter from your veterinarian certifying that the animal is in good health and fit to travel by air is provided at time of tender. It must also state that there is no risk of birth occurring during the journey.

·   Animals with suckling young and un-weaned animals will not be accepted for air transport.

·  Any animals that have given birth in the last 48 hours will not be accepted for air transportation.

·  Cohabitation is permitted provided that the animals are of comparable size and that they are use to cohabitation. They must meet all other kennel size requirements and must not exceed 14 kgs (31 lbs) each. (Maximum is two (2) animals per kennel).

·  Combination of pets (dogs and cats) in the same kennel is not permitted.

·  Live Animal bookings and routings are restricted to 1 flight connection.

·  It may be necessary from time to time to arrange for overnight boarding of your pet and proof of vaccination may be required. Please ensure these documents are readily available and that you provide a 24 hour emergency contact number at the time of booking.

NOTE: When shipping your pet to the USA, you will be required to provide a health certificate dated no more than ten (10) days prior to acceptance.  Please submit this document at the time of tender.
